The skilled independent

The points are given according to your age, work experience, occupation, spouse skills, your ability to speak/communicate effectively in the English language, occupation in demand, and the Australian educational qualification.
You can also get bonus points if you know an Australian community language or if you already have a work experience in Australia. If you only get 90 points in the assessment, you can qualify for a Skilled Australian Sponsored visa instead.
Skilled Australian Sponsored
If you have a blood relative Living in Australia, you can apply as a skilled Australian Sponsored and relate to him/her as a natural, step, or adoptive:
- niece/nephew
- brother/sister
- non-dependent child
- uncle/aunt
- parent
This Skilled Migration Australia visa class is for individuals who can secure a nomination from the territory or state government. It should not be confused with the territory/state sponsored regional visa.
Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional)
If you have a relative living in any of Australia’s designated areas, you can apply for this type of visa. However, you should be related to him/her as his/her adoptive, natural, or step:
- parent
- aunt/uncle
- non-dependent child
- nephew/niece
- brother/sister
- first cousin
- grandchild
You can also get this type of visa if you gain sponsorship from the territory/state government. The passing mark is 100, and if you get a sponsorship from a relative, you can get an extra 25 points. You can get 10 points if the sponsorship comes from the State/Territory government. You can also get extra points and have your application prioritized if your occupation of choice is included in the demand list for occupations.
This visa is only valid for 3 years, so to get a permanent visa, you need to stay within the regional area for at least 2 years. However, you need to possess work experience in the area for at least a year already.
