For instance, of your intention is to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree but need to complete a short non-award course before starting on your main degree, then you need to apply for a Higher Education Sector visa.

4. Temporary Visa for Higher Education Sector

This is the kind of student visa Australia you need if your main course of study is (a) a Bachelor degree, (b) associate degree, (c) graduate certificate, (d) graduate diploma, or (e) Masters by coursework.

5. Postgraduate Research Sector: Temporary Visa

If you intend to pursue a Masters degree via research or a Doctoral degree in Australia, this is the type of visa to apply for.

6. Temporary Visa for ELICOS Sector

Students who intend to pursue English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) in Australia, including courses for certificate I, II, III or IV and courses that do not result in any formal Australian award.
